What Sets GBR Apart

We have learned through the years in this industry that many individual roofers and roofing companies are always finding a way to save money, cut corners to maximize their profits, without regard for what's best for their clients. We have seen contractors collect a first check from a client and then leave town never to be seen again, we have seen contractors reuse almost every material underneath the roof, leaving it exposed and not water-tight. We have seen fly-by-night companies come in one day and leave the next (what happens with you you have a roof issue after a roofer has left town?!). We have even seen companies send sales people out to perform roof inspections, and when there is no damage, they have hit the roof with a hammer and fabricated the damage in an attempt to create business for their company. We have pretty much seen it all, and it's not a pretty picture! GBR set out to change the standard of the roofing industry for the sake of homeowners who we believe deserve better!

If your roofer offers to eat your deductible (which is illegal in the state of Texas), you need to ask yourself

1 - In what other ways are this roofer's business practices illegal, in order to feel comfortable breaking the law about deductibles? (The roofer AND the homeowner can be prosecuted if discovered!)

2 - On what parts of my project are they cutting their costs down to account for their lost profits from my unpaid deductible? (Most roofers reuse a lot of materials in order to save money when they don't collect a deductible. We have seen it time and time again and it's very scary!)

With GBR, we do what we say we are going to do, we give honest assessments and options, and perform stellar work on every roof, every time. Read below what you can expect when you work with GBR:

Synthetic Underlayment

About 90% of the roofs we take off have regular felt paper underneath them. That's right, paper! If you know anything about paper, you know that it tears easily. What happens when roofing felt tears? Your roof isn't water tight, and that's a problem. We don't ever use felt, we automatically upgrade your roof to synthetic underlayment which is more durable, stronger, and does not tear during the roof install process or any other time. We want water tight roofs, not flimsy cheap ones!

High-Profile Ridge

We think the look of your roof is as important as how it functions. We want our roofs to have WOW factors, and the majority of that comes from our high profile ridges that we put on. Most roofers put regular 3 tab (the cheapest shingle on the market) over the ridge of a house. Now why would you want your ridge to be the weakest part of your house? That's where all the impact of the weather goes. We upgrade to high profile ridge because it is stronger, and we promise people will take notice of your roof as well. It's just that beautiful!

Matching Roof Metals

No, we are not those roofers who just put galvanized vents on your roof. We take the extra time to make sure we get the closest match to your shingle color (or we paint them for you). We know that details matter, and we want your neighbors coming to your house to compliment you on how beautiful your new roof is. Think that sounds dramatic? Just wait until we put your new roof on, those random, unsolicited compliments from neighbors happen every time. That's the GBR difference.

All New Materials

We cannot tell you how many roofers reuse materials they tear off a roof. They won't disclose that to you of course, they will just discount their services in an attempt to earn your business (which is illegal when dealing with a roofing claim, but we won't get into that here). All they do when they discount their services is make it up in other ways - and typically that comes in the form of reusing old materials. With GBR, we will NEVER reuse old materials or overlook issues that need to be fixed. We do it right the first time, and the result is a beautiful roof you can be proud of.

Unforeseen Issues Fixed

When taking a roof off, we have learned to expect the unexpected (like this huge hole and wood rot we found on a home that was less than 10 years old!). The majority of the time, the unforeseen issues are problems with roof decking like in this photo, and it takes us less than an hour of additional time to purchase extra decking, and replace the bad sections for our homeowners. It is well worth that hour to give you a roof that will function well, be water-tight, and not have the potential to cause future problems.
