God Built Roofs has been your reliable, honest, trustworthy roofer for the past decade, providing excellent workmanship to hundreds of homeowners and businesses through the years in the North DFW area. We have become known for our expertise and above all else, our honesty and transparency to homeowners. With God Built Roofs, you can expect the truth, not salesmanship.

Just like it's not easy to find an honest mechanic, unfortunately it's also difficult to find a truly honest roofer. We have come to learn that harsh reality even more after working for over 2 decades in the roofing industry. Many roofers are just salesmen: trying to "sell" you on getting a new roof, because that's how roofers make money. Our goal at God Built Roofs is, and has always been, to provide homeowners with truth, honesty, and solutions that fit their needs.

Ever since the Covid pandemic, the failing economy has put a strain on our boutique company. And in an unregulated roofing industry in Texas (meaning, anyone can become a roofer, no special certifications or licenses are required!) there is a lot of competition with door knockers and fly-by-night companies who come into town to capitalize off of storms, create urgency in the minds of homeowners, offer to illegally eat deductibles, and then leave their homeowners high and dry after they put a roof on with questionable installation and material standards. Therefore God Built Roofs has seen a large hit in our business over the past year with 80% of homeowners unable to afford (or just unwilling) to pay their deductibles, and are looking more and more for unvetted companies who are able and willing to break the law just to gain new business. That is simply not God Built Roofs. We believe in integrity in everything we do. And if we are willing to break the law today, what will that lead to tomorrow? We, as owners, weren't built that way, and we didn't build our company that way. 

For that reason, God Built Roofs has downsized in 2022, closing our Trophy Club office, and reducing our overhead. We did close our construction company, GBR Construction, and thought very seriously about closing God Built Roofs completely, but we have had a steady stream of friends and personal acquaintances calling us because they just want an honest roofer they can trust. So that desire to provide honest work, which brought us into business to begin with, is what is keeping God Built Roofs in business today. We are still taking new clients on a case-by-case basis, providing them with same high-quality and "no corners cut" workmanship that we have always offered. Our crews have become like family to us through the years, are fully-insured, and they stand behind their work just like we do. This company we have built is still going after all these years and the unprecedented times we have seen as a small business.

Sometimes it's the storms in life that blow you to the place you need to be.

Steps to Call in your Roofing Claim

1. Call Your Insurance

If you think you might have storm related damage to your roof, the best course of action is to call your insurance, not a roofer. Most roof inspections are just sales meetings, where they send you with a salesperson instead of a roofing expert; They sell you on a new roof whether they see minor damage or significant damage,  and will create urgency in your mind to get the roof replaced now. After all, that's how they make their money. The reality is, your insurance will tell you if you need a new roof or not. It's really best to call your insurance first and see what they recommend, not what a salesperson says you should do. 

2. Call God Built Roofs

Once insurance assesses your roof, they will send you an adjuster report. Those reports can be confusing to  understand, especially if this is your first roof insurance claim, and that's ok. Once you receive this report, give God Built Roofs a call and we will break that down for you and explain everything so you understand every part of it. Our goal is transparency, so this is your time to ask any questions you have and we can make a plan for moving forward with your roof in a time frame and manner you are comfortable with. 3. Pay your Deductible

Texas House Bill 2102, Section 707.002 effective September 1, 2019 requires a person insured under a property insurance policy to pay any deductible applicable to a first-party claim made under the policy...If you are looking for a company who is willing to break the law to save you money, what kind of work will they actually be performing for you? And if you are ok breaking the law with your roofing contractor, then we are probably not a good fit for you anyway.  In an ethical insurance claim, you are responsible or your deductible, and we are responsible for good workmanship, high quality materials, and we will handle the rest with your insurance so you don't have to think any more about your roofing claim.

God Built Roofs Gives Back

Thanks to homeowners like you and our wonderful roofing suppliers and partners, God Built Roofs was able to put on an entire roof for free for a man who needed a roof on his house in Roanoke. We had driven by his house every day to get to our offices, and finally we had to do something to help him with his house. While we were doing the work that day, our kids and their friends put together a lemonade stand and sold lemonade for donations, and at the end of it we were able to give the man $1,500 cash on top of a new roof. It's amazing what happens when community comes together to help neighbors!

ABOUT THE OWNERS

Leon and Lauren started God Built Roofs from the ground up. Lauren is the brains, Leon is the talent (lol!). Leon had been in the roofing industry since early college, where he did the actual labor on commercial and residential roofs, before moving on to roofing sales. Leon and Lauren created a supplement company that serviced the insurance side of roofing, and Leon is HAAG Certified, which is the highest certifications that Adjusters sometimes achieve, therefore he knows what he is talking about when it comes to roofing! After tackling every aspect of the roofing business, Leon and Lauren created God Built Roofs in 2017. As people of faith, it was disheartening to see all the corruption in the roofing industry, and Leon and Lauren set out to be the company people could actually trust. Going above and beyond, shooting straight, and providing excellent workmanship standards is the backbone upon which this company was built. As owners of a boutique mom-and-pop company, you can expect Leon to be there for your roof install, and you can expect Lauren to keep you updated throughout the process of your project.
